How to Create Automated Email Sequences

0:00

Hey, I'm going to show you how you can automatically send emails to your

0:04

website

0:05

the visitors and to do that we will use Herbie2B, we will use Klay and we will

0:10

use SmartLit.

0:11

When you look at your integrations page you'll see that you have a lot of sales

0:15

engagement platform. So you see you have instantly Apollo, outreach and so and

0:21

sales left and so each of these could be used the logic remains the same but in

0:26

this case for the sake of the example we will use SmartLit. So the first thing

0:31

you

0:31

have to do is because we will push the data instead of Klay you need to set up

0:36

your integration. In this case you can see here I already did that but if you

0:40

want

0:40

to do this you need to click here you would have setup integration so you would

0:44

click here and then it will be tasked to copy to copy paste a web book URL. The

0:51

way

0:51

you find this web book URL is by going inside of Klay and what you would do is

0:56

you would create a new table and as you scroll down you can import the data

1:03

from

1:03

the web book. So here you click there click a new blank table and it's creating

1:09

source and so it will auto-generate a URL that we will be able to copy paste.

1:18

So here we can see the URL we copy the URL and then we paste it here and as you

1:26

paste it here you can click on save and then you should just get some

1:29

quick notification that says the configuration has been saved so you know

1:34

it works. And then the way it will look like it can look at you know a table

1:40

that's

1:40

already being that's already been populated is something like this. So you

1:46

get information on the full name, the first name, the last name, the company

1:49

name, the

1:50

website. You also get email addresses, you get the job title, you get the link

1:55

in the URL, you get the web page your visitor was on you know their city, state

2:00

and so on. So as you can see you get a lot of information. What's most

2:05

interesting

2:06

to us is we need the first name of the person because in most of the emails we

2:12

will send that we will use the first name as a parameter. We want to have the

2:15

company name because this is also something that's pretty helpful when you

2:19

do some outreach at scale. But most importantly what we need to see is the

2:25

email address because if you want to do any kind of email outreach we'll need

2:28

to

2:29

have the email address as an input. So here as you can see we have all of the

2:34

data and if you want to be even more fancy we'll be able to use the rest of the

2:38

data. But the whole idea is from CLIP we will send all of the contacts to a

2:46

Smartly campaign. So by clicking on add enrichment you can choose a Smartly. So

2:57

here you can see I picked Smartly but there were a few others you could pick

3:02

so for example you can see that you could do the same thing with instantly, you

3:06

could

3:07

do the same thing with sales left, you can do the same thing with LambList. So

3:17

you

3:18

can do the same thing across a variety of providers in this case. Let's keep it

3:23

to Smartly but the whole idea is that we will be adding leads to campaign and

3:27

here you need to connect your API key. So here to find your API key you will

3:33

need

3:33

to click on add an icon and then as you add an icon it will ask you to paste

3:39

your

3:39

API key. In our case what we'll do is we'll go into a Smartly. Instead of

3:45

Smartly you can click on your settings and here you see there is an API key. If

3:52

you don't have it already you can create the API key it will

3:57

auto-generate a unique code and you can copy paste this code from here to here.

4:08

So in this case it's already done and then what I can do now is I can find a

4:13

campaign but before I find a campaign I need to create this campaign. So what I

4:19

do is inside of Smartly I will click on create the campaign I will call this

4:26

campaign "erb2b" and then we start drafting the sequence. So in this case for

4:32

the

4:32

second example hey what should we say?

4:37

"Thrancing sales" and so here what we'll do is we'll just write a short email

4:44

in

4:44

this case something along the lines of "hi" first name, first name, does and

4:57

then we

4:58

will put the company name, company name, need help with sales and then we'll

5:06

add

5:06

our signature and that's it. In any case you can do anything one but for the

5:11

second example let's keep it simple and once you have this you can decide to

5:16

leave it at least or you can add a step so that you can create a multi-step

5:19

campaign which will mean that you will be able to send a first email and to

5:24

automate the sending of a second one after some time. So in this case for

5:28

example

5:29

I click here I click on email I wait for three days for example and then I can

5:35

ask "hi" first name, "any thoughts on my notes" and then you can save the

5:46

change.

5:46

So anyways now that we have this sequence that has been created what we need to

5:52

do is we need to send all of the data of the leads that we identify on our

5:58

website through "erb2b" we need to send it to small kids. So here what we'll do

6:04

is

6:04

that we will be looking for a campaign in the campaign ID field. Here you can

6:10

see

6:10

campaign ID and I think I named the campaign "erb2b" let's check that

6:16

"erb2b" so the campaign is "erb2b" and then here now I have to match the

6:24

fields so like the first field was the business email because this is what we

6:28

used to reach out to people. Another field was the first name so up we'll use

6:34

the

6:34

first name and another field was interesting to us was the company name. So

6:39

you can add as many as you want. Here we have those three and then what I do

6:45

here is that I save and then I run the first ten rows.

6:52

And we should see these leads being automatically added to smart leads. So you

6:59

see one, two, three, four, seven of them are added. I'm guessing that the ones

7:04

that

7:04

aren't added are not added because we don't have the email address of the

7:08

people. In any case once you added the leads from clear to smart lead you can

7:13

go back to smart lead and then we can have a look at the leads that have been

7:18

added by clicking on final review. First time to save and I first need to do

7:27

a quick setup to just decide of the email I will use. So here I'm saying I will

7:36

use

7:36

those mailboxes to send my campaign and I quickly have to decide of a time and

7:43

number of emails to be sent per day and now we'll be finally able to check if

7:48

my

7:49

leads were properly sent. So here you can see I have one, two, three, four,

7:56

five people, six people here.

7:59

So you can see that the first name has been set out, sent out, high tailor,

8:03

high Christian

8:05

and you can see that the company name also has been sent out. So here in this

8:09

case

8:09

you know high carrindos, kylan consulting need help with sales and so we can

8:15

check the first email and we can also check the second email. So here I'm

8:20

asking

8:20

Karlin three days later if she has any thoughts on my notes. So just so you

8:26

know

8:26

when you do these campaigns it would be best to make them a bit more

8:30

sophisticated

8:31

but the idea is that since you know that they visited your website and you

8:37

know which page they were on try to make something that's related to what they

8:42

do so they are a job title and it's related to the page they were on so that

8:46

you make sure that each of the email sequence you send is relevant.
